MemorialCare Health System Names 2 to Lead Health Initiatives in Southern California

Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare Health System has announced Regina Berman, BSN, vice president of population health, and Helen Macfie, PharmD, chief transformation officer, will partner with clinicians to help manage all aspects of quality care.

As the transformation officer, Ms. Macfie has executive responsibility for performance improvement for population health, clinical quality, patient safety, risk management, utilization, lean and patient and family experience initiatives and strategic planning. A former acute-care pharmacist, Ms. Macfie was previously senior vice president for performance improvement at MemorialCare.

Ms. Berman, as vice president of population health, oversees all aspects of MemorialCare's population health management. She formerly was executive director of performance improvement services at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center and chair of New Jersey's state quality program. She also served on the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Program Board of Examiners, is a diplomat of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review of Physicians and is a certified professional in healthcare quality of the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
