Ronald Swinfard, MD, president and CEO of Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network, has announced plans to retire, effective July 1.
Dr. Swinfard has led the hospital since November 2010.
"All of us eventually must decide when the time is right to move on with our lives," Dr. Swinfard said in a hospital news release. "This is the right time for me and my family."
Brian Nester, DO, chief strategy officer of LVHN, will take over duties for Dr. Swinfard upon his departure.
