Jim Boyle named interim CEO of Central Texas Medical Center: 6 things to know

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System has named Jim Boyle interim CEO of Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos.

Here are six things to know about Mr. Boyle.

1. Mr. Boyle will take over for current CEO Sam Huenergardt, who announced earlier this month he would be transferring to Parker Adventist Hospital, a Centura Health hospital affiliated with Adventist Health System. 

2. Mr. Boyle will officially begin responsibilities at the 178-bed facility July 6 and will remain in the senior leadership role until a permanent replacement is found.

3. Mr. Boyle previously served as interim CEO of Central Texas Medical Center in 2010. 

4. Mr. Boyle is the president and CEO of Summit Leadership Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in leadership development, board development and executive coaching for healthcare organizations, churches and boards of directors.

5. Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Boyle served as CEO of Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver and senior vice president for Centura Health in Englewood, Colo.

6. Mr. Boyle also previously served as president and CEO of Shawnee Mission Medical Center near Kansas City, Kan., and in various leadership roles with Orlando-based Florida Hospital.
