Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare has named A. Marc Harrison, MD, president and CEO.
Here are four things to know about Dr. Harrison.
1. He most recently held positions as chief of international business development for Cleveland Clinic and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
2. During Dr. Harrison's tenure at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he assembled a 3,500 member multi-national workforce and oversaw all aspects of clinical and business operations for the new medical campus, Intermountain said.
3. Dr. Harrison also previously served as chief medical operations officer for Cleveland Clinic, and as chairman of pediatric critical care.
4. In his new role at Intermountain, he will replace Charles W. Sorenson, MD, who is retiring Oct. 15. Dr. Sorenson will remain with Intermountain as founding director of the Intermountain Healthcare Leadership Institute, which is slated to open in 2018.
