Illinois Hospital Association elects new board

The Naperville-based Illinois Hospital Association has announced the new officers and trustees of its 2015 board of trustees. Board officers serve a one year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2015.

Dean Harrison, MBA, president and CEO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare in Chicago has been elected chair of the board. He succeeds Kevin Poorten, MHSA, president and CEO of KishHealth System in DeKalb, Ill.

Sandra Bruce, MHA, president and CEO of Presence Health in Chicago, has been appointed chair-elect.

Edgar Curtis, MBA, president and CEO of Memorial Health System in Springfield, Ill., has been named treasurer.

Nancy Newby, president and CEO of Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Ill., will serve as secretary.

Regional trustees elected to serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2015, include David Allen, CEO of Richland Memorial in Olney, Ill.; Dave Braasch, president and CEO of Alton (Ill.) Memorial Hospital; Maureen Kahn, president and CEO of Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.; Jim Prister, president and CEO of RML in Chicago and RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, Ill.; and Karen Teitelbaum, president and CEO of Sinai Health System in Chicago.

The at-large trustees include Rex Conger, president and CEO of Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Ill.; Colleen Kannaday, president of Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Ill.; Sharon O'Keefe, president of University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago; José Sánchez, president and CEO of Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago; and Mark Turner, president and CEO of Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
