Hiawatha Community Hospital CEO announces retirement plans: 4 things to know

John Moore, CEO of Hiawatha (Kan.) Community Hospital, intends to retire next year, according to a Hiawatha World report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Moore and his retirement.

1. Mr. Moore's planned retirement date is July 1, 2016.

2. In announcing his intention to retire, Mr. Moore said, "I have contemplated retiring for some time and always felt I would know the right time. There never seems to be a right or wrong time as there is always a project or issue that needs addressed," according to the report. He added that he plans to spend more time with family and travel some.

3. Mr. Moore has offered to assist in securing his replacement.

4. Mr. Moore has worked at HCH since 1989 and has been the CEO since 1996.
