GW Hospital names George Sprinkel CFO: 4 things to know

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., has named George Sprinkel CFO, according to a news release.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Sprinkel.

1. He brings more than 15 years of hospital CFO experience to GW Hospital, most recently serving as CFO of Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn., a 270-bed acute care hospital.

2. In addition to serving as CFO of Gateway Medical Center, Mr. Sprinkel has held CFO positions at several other hospitals, including Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, Fla., Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo., and New Hanover Health Network in Wilmington, N.C.

3. Mr. Sprinkel is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. In addition, he previously served as a board member of Medicaid Access III of North Carolina, as well as a chairman of the Coastal Carolina Health Alliance Finance Committee.

4. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
