Eric Deaton, MBA, is returning to Kingsport, Tenn.-based Wellmont Health System as COO.
Mr. Deaton served as vice president of finance and operations at Bristol (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center, part of the Wellmont Health System, from 1999 until 2003.
Since 2013, Mr. Deaton served as market president for Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals. In that role, he directed the collective operations of Danville (Va.) Regional Medical Center and Memorial Hospital of Martinsville (Va.). Prior to that, Mr. Deaton served as president and CEO of Danville Regional from 2010 to 2013.

Mr. Deaton succeeds Tracey Moffatt, who recently left the system.
