Dan Woods Resigns as CEO of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Illinois

Dan Woods, president and CEO of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill., has announced his immediate resignation, according to an Effingham Daily News report.

St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital is part of the Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System.

The resignation came as a surprise to the hospital's administrative team, according to the report.

Mr. Woods said he and his wife had been considering his departure for some time, according to the report. He did not specify any plans for his immediate future.

Mark Reifsteck, Southern Illinois Division manager of Hospital Sisters Health System, has taken over as interim CEO and president of the St. Anthony's. HSHS said they would begin searching for a permanent leader of St. Anthony's immediately, according to the report.
