Cone Health swaps Women's Hospital & Annie Penn Hospital presidents

Two Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health hospitals are swapping leaders. Greensboro-based Women's Hospital President Cindy Farrand, MBA, will become the new president of Reidsville, N.C.-based Annie Penn Hospital, while Annie Penn Hospital President Debbie Green Cunningham, DNP, MSN, RN, will become the new president of Women's Hospital.

The moves will take effect on Feb. 14, 2017. Currently, Ms. Cunningham, who is also president of Greensboro-based Behavioral Health Hospital, splits her time between Anne Penn in Reidsville and Greensboro. Mr. Farrand, on the other hand, works in Greensboro while living in Reidsville.

"It makes much more sense for Cindy to lead her hometown hospital, which has unique, strategic needs, and for Debbie to lead two hospitals that are just a few miles apart," said Cone Health COO Judy Schanel in a statement.

Additionally, as part of the leadership changes, Sue Pedaline, DNP, vice president of nursing and patient services at Women's Hospital, will take on additional responsibilities there as well as operational responsibility for maternal-child services' strategic direction across Cone Health.
