Cleveland Clinic names Dr. Stephen Jones president of regional hospitals, family health centers

The Cleveland Clinic has announced the promotion of J. Stephen Jones, MD, MBA, as the new president of Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals and Family Health Centers, effective Dec. 1.

Most recently, Dr. Jones served as vice president of regional medical operations for the regional hospitals and family health centers, a role he took in February. Before that, he was chief of surgical operations for the regional hospitals after serving in a similar capacity at Fairview Hospital.

In his new role, Dr. Jones will lead Cleveland Clinic's eight community hospitals in addition to the new Cleveland Clinic Avon (Ohio) Hospital and 16 family health centers in Northeast Ohio. His goals will be to promote the integration of the community hospitals and family health centers with an emphasis on quality, access and affordability.

Dr. Jones will succeed Brian G. Donley, MD, who has been appointed Cleveland Clinic's chief of staff, effective Jan. 1, 2015, when Joseph F. Hahn, MD, retires from that role.
