CEO of UPMC Hamot outpatient mental health center retires

The head of Erie, Pa.-based UPMC Hamot's outpatient mental health facility is retiring after 23 years at the helm, GoErie reports.

Jon Evans is the founder and CEO of UPMC Hamot's Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, which treats around 7,000 patients. Mandy Fauble, vice president of clinical operations at Safe Harbor, will succeed Mr. Evans as CEO when he retires Jan. 31.

Mr. Evans oversaw development of the emergency mental health program Crisis Services that acted as a model for similar Pennsylvania programs. He also partook in implementing psychosis treatment and addiction medicine services.

Prior to his leadership post, Mr. Evans helped facilitate Safe Harbor's affiliation with UPMC Hamot in 2015. Safe Harbor received $4 million for special projects and capital improvements over a 10-year period under the affiliation, according to the report.
