Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve School of Medicine named Bernard Boulanger, MD, senior associate dean for The MetroHealth System, also in Cleveland, effective March 1, 2017. He will continue to serve in his current role as executive vice president and chief clinical officer of The MetroHealth System.
In his new role, Dr. Boulanger will serve as the principal liaison between MetroHealth and the medical school. He will plan and implement Case Western Reserve School of Medicine's teaching and research programs at the health system.
Prior to joining MetroHealth, Dr. Boulanger was system CMO of University of Kentucky HealthCare, based in Lexington. A trauma surgeon, he completed trauma surgery and critical care fellowship training at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Dr. Boulanger succeeds Alfred Connors, MD, who will now focus exclusively on his duties as chief quality officer for MetroHealth, a role he has held since December 2014.
