Carol Kuplen promoted to president of St. Luke's Fountain Hill campus: 4 things to know

Carol Kuplen has been named president of Fountain Hill, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Hospital, the main headquarters for St. Luke's University Health Network, according to a Lehigh Valley Business report.  

Here are four things to know about Ms. Kuplen.

1. As campus president, Ms. Kuplen is responsible for the operations, fiscal performance, quality outcomes and strategic initiatives for the hospital and its related sites, according to the report.

2. In addition to her responsibilities as president, she will continue as the network's CNO, a role she has held since 2008.

3. Ms. Kuplen has held her former title as COO of the hospital since 2011.

4. She has more than 30 years of experience in the nursing field, 24 of which include hospital management experience. She joined St. Luke's in 1987 as a patient care manager and later became the director of the network's cancer program. In 2002, Ms. Kuplen joined the senior administration at St. Luke's as a vice president and senior nurse executive.
