St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, Calif., named Derek Drake, DNP, RN, CNO.
Most recently, Mr. Drake served as director of emergency and trauma services at Renown Health in Reno, Nev. Prior to that, he served as nursing manager of the cardiac intensive care unit and nursing manager of the trauma/surgical ICU, also at Renown Regional Health.
Mr. Drake obtained his doctor of nursing practice from the University of Nevada, Reno-Orvis School of Nursing. He is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and American Organization of Nurse Executives.
"Derek Drake has leadership expertise in high-demand nurse specialty areas, including emergency and trauma services, cardiac intensive care, and trauma/surgical intensive care," said Gerald Kozai, PharmD, St. Francis Medical Center's president and CEO, in a statement. "This experience is invaluable to our hospital which is one of the few trauma centers in the region, treating more than 2,200 trauma patients each year, and a STEMI and stroke receiving center."
