Alabama Hospital Association Announces Leadership Changes

The Alabama Hospital Association has announced three leadership changes, including the new chairman and chairman-elect for the organization.

The three appointments include:

• Terry Andrus, president and CEO of East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, was named chairman of the association after serving as chairman-elect in 2011. Mr. Andrus began serving EAMC in 1983 as COO. In 1984, he was appointed as president and CEO.
• Clark Christianson, president and CEO of Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala., was named chairman-elect of the association. Mr. Christianson was appointed president and CEO of Providence Hospital in December 2000. Prior to that, he served 14 years as senior vice president and administrator of Memorial Health Systems in Ormond Beach, Fla.
• Michael Waldrum, MD, MS, MBA, was elected secretary-treasurer of the association. Dr. Waldrum serves as CEO of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. He has been a member of the UAB Hospital medical staff since 1995. In 2004, he was appointed as COO of the hospital, and in 2006, he was named CEO.
