Adventist Health System elects Gary Thurber as board chairman

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System has elected Gary Thurber chair of the board of directors, effective immediately.

Mr. Thurber is president of the Mid-America Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He will replace retiring chairman Don Livesay.

"Don has been instrumental in shaping the direction of our company over the last decade and we are so thankful for his leadership," said Terry Shaw, president and CEO of Adventist. "I look forward to working with Gary in his new capacity, as he brings deep insight and experience that will help guide our organization forward." 

Adventist Health System includes 45 hospital campuses across nine states, with more than 80,000 employees.
