9 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Kimberly L. Bourne, system director of patient safety for Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health System, was named president and CEO of Taylorville (Ill.) Memorial Hospital, effective Jan. 1, 2015.

2. Bradford (Pa.) Regional Medical Center COO David Kobis announced he will resign Dec. 12 to become senior vice president and COO of Cortland (N.Y.) Medical Center.

3. Frank Byrne, MD, president of St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wis., announced he will retire Jan. 30, 2015.

4. Daniel E. Neufelder was appointed president and CEO of Milwaukee-based Ministry Health Care, effective Dec. 1.

5. John Moore was named executive vice president and CFO of Dallas-based Parkland Health & Hospital System, effective Jan. 5, 2015.

6. Penny Wheeler, MD, will become the first female CEO of Minneapolis-based Allina Health after the current CEO, Kenneth Paulus, retires at the end of the year.

7. Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska, announced the appointment of Alan C. Ulrich, MBA, as the hospital's new CFO, effective Nov. 19.

8. Kathy Connerton was appointed president and CEO of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., effective Dec. 15. Lourdes is part of St. Louis-based Ascension Health.

9. Valley Medical Group in Paramus, N.J., part of Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Health System, appointed Jean Flanagan as its first COO, effective immediately.
