9 CEO changes in hospitals, health systems

The following CEO moves were covered by Becker's Hospital Review within the past two weeks, beginning with the most recent.

1. Gianrico Farrugia, MD, will assume his role as CEO of Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville, Fla., campus in 2015.

2. James Tyler is the new CEO of Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va., part of Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance.

3. Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton, Ill., named Robert Wolleben as its interim CEO.

4. Steve Lawler, president of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C., shared his plans to retire in two years.

5. Jim FitzPatrick is now the permanent president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center – Sioux City (Iowa).

6. Cibola General Hospital in Grants, N.M., named Donald Weidemann CEO.

7. Tom Considine, president and CEO of Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus, N.J., asked for relief from his responsibilities after three months on the job.

8. Scott Hill is the new president and CEO of Columbus (Ga.) Regional Health.

9. The board of Texas Health Resources in Arlington named Barclay Berdan as the system's next CEO, effective Sept. 1.
