8 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Moses Lake, Wash.-based Samaritan Healthcare appointed Theresa Sullivan president and CEO.

2. Jack Weiner, PharmD, president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Mich., is retiring.

3. Kevin Erich, president and CEO of Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif., part of Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health, is retiring.

4. Lars Houmann, president and CEO of Orlando-based Florida Hospital, and the Florida Division of the hospital's parent company, Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, was promoted within Adventist. Starting Dec. 1, he will be executive vice president of the Florida Division so he can be devoted to it full time.

5. The Granite Falls (Minn.) Municipal Hospital and Manor named Thomas Kooiman CEO.

6. Sam Kaufman was named CEO of Henderson (Nev.) Hospital, the yet-to-open facility part of Las Vegas-based The Valley Health System.

7. Spokane, Wash.-based Sacred Heart Children's Hospital named Keith Georgeson, MD, CEO.

8. Middleburg Heights, Ohio-based Southwest Community Health System — the parent organization of Southwest General Health Center and the Southwest Community Health Foundation — named William Young Jr. president and CEO.
