20 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., promoted Kimberly Rose from director of IT to CIO.

2. St. Louis-based SSM Health Care announced Frank L. Lucia president and CEO of Dean Health Plan, effective immediately.

3. David Lundal was named CIO of Presence Health in Chicago.

4. Howard Ainsley will assume his role as CEO of Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C., Aug. 25.

5. Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, Texas, named John Allen CEO, effective Aug. 18.

6. Rebecca Kaul resigned as Pittsburgh-based UPMC's chief innovation officer three months after being promoted into the position.

7. East Chicago, Ind.-based St. Catherine Hospital, part of Community Healthcare System, selected Art Vasquez as its vice president and CFO.

8. University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson named Terri Gillespie, MSN, as its new CNO, effective Sept. 1.

9. The president and CEO of Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System, Tom Strauss, is retiring Dec. 31.

10. Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky., appointed Tim Bess as CEO, effective Sept. 2.

11. Mt. Pleasant, S.C.-based East Cooper Medical Center named Terri Harris, BSN, MPH, as its CNO.

12. Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus, N.J., named its CNO, Felicia Karsos, as CEO, replacing Thomas Considine, who left the CEO post after three months.

13. Craig McCoy will assume his role as CEO of Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta on Sept. 1.

14. Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colo., named Susan Hicks president and CEO.

15. John Miller, CEO of Anderson, S.C.-based AnMed Health, plans to step down from his role in 2015 hoping to assume another role in the organization.

16. Matt Roberts was named CEO of Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La.

17. UW Hospital & Clinics in Madison, Wis., named COO Ron Sliwinski as interim president and CEO.

18. Kevin Lawlor, president and CEO of Huntington (N.Y.) Hospital, will retire Dec. 31.

19. Carl Myers, MD, resigned from his post as vice president of medical affairs and CMO of Yuma (Ariz.) Regional Medical Center, effective immediately.

20. McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., named Chad Campbell CEO.
