7 recent CIO, CMIO moves

The following CIO and CMIO moves have been reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the past two weeks, beginning with the most recent.

1. Palomar CMIO joins patient monitoring solutions firm
Benjamin Kanter, MD, has left his position as CMIO of Palomar Health in Escondido, Calif., to become CMO of Sotera Wireless, a developer of patient monitoring tools.

2. Overlake Medical Center CMIO becomes CMO
Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Wash., has appointed David Knoepfler, MD, as CMO.

3. Indian Health Service appoints acting CMIO
Michael Toedt, MD, executive director of clinical services at Cherokee (N.C.) Indian Hospital, was named acting CMIO for the Indian Health Service.

4. Subra Sripada expected to be CIO of newly merged Beaumont system
Subra Sripada, the current executive vice president and chief administrative and information officer at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., is expected to be appointed CIO of the health system created by the merger of Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills, Mich., and Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich.

5. Emanuel Medical Center CIO becomes COO
Emanuel Medical Center CIO David Flanders was appointed as the hospital's new COO.

6. UPMC CIO Dan Drawbaugh steps down
After 18 years as executive vice president and CIO of Pittsburgh-based UPMC, Dan Drawbaugh resigned late last month.

7. Angelo Mazzocco named CIO of Central Ohio Primary Care
Angelo Mazzocco will serve as Westerville-based Central Ohio Primary Care's newest CIO.
