5 things to know about University Healthcare's new CEO

Martinsburg, W. Va.-based University Healthcare has named Anthony P. Zelenka president and CEO.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Zelenka.

1. As CEO of University Healthcare, Mr. Zelenka is responsible for both University Healthcare hospitals, including Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, W. Va., and Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg. 

2. For the past seven years, Mr. Zelenka has served as the president and COO of Berkeley Medical Center.

3. Prior to Berkeley, Mr. Zelenka was vice president of clinical support services and plant operations for Washington (Pa.) Hospital.

4. During his career in healthcare, Mr. Zelenka has managed various hospital service lines and been responsible for developing and implementing a number of strategic projects including quality and performance improvement, technology upgrades and construction and renovation, according to University Healthcare.

5. Mr. Zelenka earned a master's degree in health administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus, and a bachelor's degree from Marietta (Ohio) College. He also earned a certificate from the Executive Program in Healthcare Financial Management from The Ohio State University.
