36 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital executive moves occurred within the past two weeks, beginning with the most recent.

1. Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo., named Jimmy Robertson Jr. CFO.

2. Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass., named Kerry Watson president.

3. Michael Kaiser, MD, interim CEO of Baton Rouge, La.-based LSU Health Care Services Division, announced that he is resigning.

4. Gwinnett Medical Center, which has locations in Duluth and Lawrenceville, Ga., named J. Thomas Shepherd COO and executive vice president of the hospital system and president of Gwinnett Medical Center-Lawrenceville.

5. Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems removed William Foley as CEO of the Chicago market.

6. Uvalde (Texas) Memorial Hospital CEO Jim Buckner resigned.

7. Mercy Health Saint Mary's in Grand Rapids, Mich., announced that Bill Manns has been named its president.

8. Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Fla., announced that Robert Krieger has been appointed its permanent CEO.  

9. Pondera Medical Center in Conrad, Mont., appointed Wayne Ogburn CEO.

10. MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Ill., announced that its CEO, Enrique Beckmann, MD, is resigning July 26.

11. Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis announced the appointments of Rhonda Rogers as CFO and Benson Chacko as COO.

12. Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System named Kenneth Kozel CEO of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health.

13. Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, W.Va., named Larry Unroe its interim CEO following the departure of former CEO Tom Schauer.

14. Detroit Medical Center's Children's Hospital of Michigan announced that Herman B. Gray, MD, has been named its CEO.

15. Schaumburg, Ill.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America announced that Gerard van Grinsven has been appointed its president and CEO.

16. Springhill (La.) Medical Center appointed Vince Sedminik as CEO.

17. Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America announced the retirement of HCA North Texas Division CFO Thomas Corley, effective Dec. 31.

18. Holyoke (Mass.) Medical Center announced that Spiros Hatiras has been named its next president and CEO.

19. University Hospital in Newark, N.J., appointed James Gonzalez as its president and CEO.

20. James Scoggin Jr., president of Hospital Corp. of America's North Texas Division in Dallas, will retire from his post, effective Oct. 1.

21. Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa, announced that Brian Kellar has been named its president and CEO.

22. Hastings, Neb.-based Mary Lanning Healthcare announced that it named Eric A. Barber president and CEO, effective Aug. 19.

23. West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, La., announced that it named Janie Doucet Frugé, RN, CEO.

24. Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kan., announced that Dave Dulny has been named CFO of Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., and Saint John Hospital, as well as Providence Place, a skilled nursing facility located on the Providence campus.

25. Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo., announced that Jim Sinek has been named its president, effective Aug. 12.

26. Wilmington, Del.-based Nemours, an integrated children's health system, announced that it has named Roy Proujansky, MD, chief executive of Nemours' Delaware Valley operations and Robert Bridges chief executive of Nemours' Florida operations.

27. Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport announced that Ann Barnhart, its former CEO, is returning to the position.

28. Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center announced that four of its leaders have resigned, including its COO.

29. Orleans Community Health in Medina, N.Y., announced that its CEO Jim Sinner has resigned.

30. Springdale, Ark.-based Northwest Health System named Ben Casmer COO of Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville (Ark.).

31. Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health announced that Neil Meltzer has been appointed president and CEO.

32. Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, based in St. Paul and Minneapolis, named K. Alec Mahmood as CFO, effective July 15.

33. Massena (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital announced that its CFO, Sean M. Curtin, has left to assume the position of vice president of finance and CFO of Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y.

34. Dawson County Hospital District, doing business as Medical Arts Hospital in Lamesa, Texas, named Jeff Weaver CFO.

35. Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, S.C., announced that COO Russell Baxley is leaving to take up the COO post at Lancaster (Pa.) Regional Medical Center.

36. Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center announced that CEO John Lucas, MD, will retire Sept. 1.
