23 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. The Woodlands, Texas-based Victory Healthcare announced the appointment of Gregory Cunniff as CFO.

2. Cuero (Texas) Community Hospital named Ivar Gjolberg CEO/hospital administrator.

3. Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Ind., announced its president and CEO Bobby Keen will retire June 30, 2014.

4. UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., announced it is eliminating the position of CEO and is moving interim CEO Anthony Patterson to the role of senior vice president of inpatient services, a newly created position.

5. Orlando (Fla.) Health President and CEO Sherrie Sitarik left her position.

6. Lake Wales (Fla.) Medical Center CEO Scott Smith is stepping down to take up the role of president at St. Joseph's Hospital-South in Riverview, Fla., a $225 million facility scheduled to open in 2015.

7. WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., announced President and CEO Bill Atkinson will step down from his role, effective Oct. 1.

8. Sumter, S.C.-based Tuomey Healthcare System announced the resignations of President and CEO Jay Cox and Executive Vice President and COO Gregg Martin.

9. Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska, announced its CEO Christine Harff has announced her resignation after just one year.

10. Phoenix-based Banner Health announced it has reorganized the leadership structure for its northern Colorado region and has named Rick Sutton CEO of its Northern Colorado operations.

11. Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas, named Mike Reno COO.

12. Marshalltown (Iowa) Medical & Surgical Center announced the appointment of Hilary Dolbee as CFO, effective Sept. 30.

13. Fairmont (W.Va.) General Hospital CFO Dan Honerbrink resigned from the bankrupt hospital, effective Monday.

14. Saint Louis University Hospital, a 356-bed teaching hospital owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp., named Bill Hoefer COO, effective today.

15. North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay named Earl Whiteley CEO.

16. Glendive (Mont.) Medical Center announced the appointment of Parker Powell as CEO, effective Oct. 14.

17. Fairmont (W. Va.) General Hospital President and CEO Robert Marquardt resigned, just three weeks after the hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

18. Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, Mich., named Sherry Arnold interim CEO.

19. Cibola General Hospital in Grants, N.M., a 25-bed critical access hospital, named Bob Phillips interim CEO.

20. Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare announced it is reorganizing its facilities into three regions, and it announced leadership changes as part of the reorganization.

21. Honolulu-based Hawaii Health Systems Corp. announced the appointment of Alice Hall as acting president and CEO.

22. Tehachapi (Calif.) Valley Healthcare District, a 24-bed critical access hospital, announced its CEO Alan Burgess has retired, effective immediately.

23. South Shore Medical Center in Norwell, Mass., named Tom Carroll CEO.
