21 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University Health System has announced longtime president and CEO Mark Neaman will transition from his current role to become executive chairman of the board of directors.

2. Michael Henze, CEO of Osage Beach, Mo.-based Lake Regional Health System, will retire after holding the position for 27 years.

3. Steve Hannah is no longer CEO of Montrose (Colo.) Memorial Hospital, though details of his departure have not been released.

4. The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis has appointed Mark Dwyer as CEO, effective October 11.

5. Hartford, Conn.-based Trinity Health Of New England named Mark Fulco president of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and its affiliates, effective Oct. 9.

6. Birmingham, Ala.-based Brookwood Baptist Health appointed Vish Sachdev, MD, CMO at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham.

7. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospitalselected Judith M. Ploszek to serve as its permanent CFO. She has been serving as acting CFO for the past year.

8. Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tenn., dropped the 'acting' from Chief Administrative Officer Jason Pilant's title.

9. Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas, tapped Monica Vargas-Mahar to serve as market COO.

10. Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Ind., selected Eric Fish, MD, to serve as vice president of medical affairs and CMO.

11. Jeff Johnston was appointed interim COO of Mercy Hospital Springfield (Mo.).

12. Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiative named Troy Hammett senior vice president and CFO of its South Eastern Division.

13. Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare announced a number of changes to its regional leadership team, effective Oct. 1.

14. Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System selected Joseph G. Hugar to serve as president.

15. Medford, Mass.-based Hallmark Health President and CEO Alan Macdonald is retiring, after 20 years with the health system.

16. After 18 years without a COO, San Diego-based Scripps Health has appointed Shiraz Fagan to the position, and also named Rick Neale as chief growth officer.

17. Providence, R.I.-based Care New England Health System President and CEO Dennis D. Keefe will retire at the end of the year. He will serve as a consultant for the organization for up to one year to help ensure a smooth transition.

18. David Chen, MD, is the new CMO at MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., and MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, Wash.

19. Washington Regional Medical System in Fayetteville, Ark., named Meredith Green, MSN, senior vice president and chief nursing officer.

20. Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health selected Bob Brigham as COO for the health system's operations in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

21. Oklahoma City-based Integris Health appointed Chris Hammes interim president of Integris Grove (Okla.) Hospital.
