20 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., appointed CFO Steve Dietlin as the permanent CEO.

2. David Zambrana, DNP, RN, CEO of University of Miami Hospital, will become CEO of Miami-based Jackson Memorial Hospital, effective April 15.

3. St. Louis-based Ascension appointed Bernie Sherry to lead its Wisconsin operations, effective April 4.

4. Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System appointed Gary Little, MD, vice president and CMO of Carolinas Medical Center, also in Charlotte.

5. Covenant Women's and Children's in Lubbock, Texas, promoted two employees to new leadership positions. Amy Thompson, MD, was promoted from CMO of CWC to CEO. Clay Taylor, former CEO of Covenant Plainview (Texas), moves into the role of COO of CWC beginning in May.

6. Julia Truman was named COO of MultiCare's Tacoma (Wash.) General Hospital.

7. The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., appointed Johnny Veal, MSN, BSN, RN, as its new CNO.

8. Owensboro (Ky.) Health named two new executives. Debbie Bostic, MSN, BSN, RN, is joining the system March 21 as CNO and COO of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Don Martin joined Owensboro Health Feb. 8 as senior vice president of the One Health medical group.

9. Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash., named Christopher Hall, MD, CMO, effective April 11.

10. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health named Pauline Grant interim president and CEO.

11. Bill Kottmann was promoted to president and CEO of Naperville, Ill.-based Edward Hospital, effective July 1.

12. The Department of Veterans Affairs fired three executives at Phoenix VA Healthcare System. The VA issued "notices of proposed removal" for Phoenix VA Associate Director LanceRobinson; Darren Deering, MD, the hospital's chief of staff; and Brad Curry, chief of health administration services.

13. Gregg Chartrand, who started in June as CFO of St. Peter, Minn.-based River's Edge Hospital and Clinic, left his post.

14. Margaret Dimond, PhD, was named president of Ascension Michigan's Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester, effective May 1.

15. Jack Lacey, MD, senior vice president and CMO at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, will retire March 31.

16. Ruth Attaway's 7-month stint as administrator and CEO of Blountstown, Fla.-based Calhoun Liberty Hospital ended. Louisville, Ky.-based Alliant Management Services took over daily operations of Calhoun Liberty, and Alliant CEO James Heitzenrater began serving as the hospital's interim CEO.

17. Kevin J. Sexton, president and CEO of Silver Spring, Md.-based Holy Cross Health, retired.

18. Howard P. Kern began his role as president and CEO of Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare March 4.

19. Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Ala., named David McCormack CEO, effective April 4.

20. Ann Errichetti, MD, CEO of St. Peter's Hospital and Albany Memorial Hospital, both in Albany, N.Y., will leave in April to take a position in the Chicago area.
