19 Hospital and Health System Executive Moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves happened in the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Florence, S.C.-based Carolinas Hospital system selected Loren Rials as CFO, according to a WBTW report.

2. Glen Falls (N.Y.) Hospital selected Mark Holtz as senior vice president and COO, according to a Glen Falls Post-Star report.

3. Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, R.I., selected Mark Marcantano as president and COO.

4. Wilson (N.C.) Medical Center named Bert Beard as its first-ever COO, effective April 21, according to a report by The Wilson Times.

5. White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital appointed Susan Fox as president and CEO, effective in 2015.

6. Pediatric gastroenterologist Edwin Simpser, MD, was named president and CEO of St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside, N.Y., according to a Queens Chronicle report.

7. Bob Bednarek, president and CEO of Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, N.C., will become vice president of rural health planning and development of Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health, effective May 19.

8. Craig James, president and CEO of Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, N.C., will assume the role of vice president for Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health's western region. He will remain president of the hospital and will also serve as interim leader of Transylvania Regional Hospital.

9. Zach McCluskey will serve as CEO of Parham Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Va.

10. Terika Richardson has been selected as CEO of Retreat Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Va.

11. Greg Nielsen, CEO of Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Neb., resigned.

12. Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Miss., selected Thomas Steiner as CEO, according to a Sun Herald report.

13. Michael Ugwueke was named president and CEO of Methodist Healthcare Memphis Hospitals, effective May 1.

14. Edinburg (Texas) Regional Medical Center and Edinburg (Texas) Children's Hospital selected Jerome Brooks as COO, according to a Your Valley Voice report.

15. University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas named Lawrence Barnard permanent CEO, according to a My News 3 report.

16. Sturgis (S.D.) Regional Hospital appointed Mark Schulte as CEO.

17. CHE Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Mich., officially named Ben Carter as its executive vice president of finance and CFO.

18. University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque named Paul Herzog COO, according to a Las Cruces Sun-News report.

19. Madison Parish Hospital announced CEO Scott Barrilleaux is leaving his post, according to a report by The News Star.
