16 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Penn State Milton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center named Thomas Tracy Jr., MD, CMO, effective Aug. 15.

2. Titusville (Pa.) Area Hospital promoted Brenda Burnett, RN, from director of nursing to vice president of patient care services and CNO, effective July 1.

3. St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, appointed Dale Gisi president.

4. Jeff Mason was named CEO of The Miami Medical Center, a physician-owned joint venture between Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami and Leawood, Kan.-based Nueterra.

5. Mercy Health - Cincinnati appointed new leaders at two of its hospitals and expanded the role of a leader at another. Jason Asic was appointed COO of Mercy Health – West Hospital in Cincinnati. Justin Krueger was appointed COO of Mercy Health – Fairfield (Ohio) Hospital. Kathi Edrington, DNP, MSN-NEL, RN, is now East Market CNO, with responsibility for clinical nursing at both Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati and Mercy Health - Clermont Hospital in Batavia, Ohio.

6. Robert Norton, president of North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Mass., plans to retire at the end of 2016.

7. St. Peter's Hospital in Helena, Mont., named Fred Olson, MD, interim CEO.

8. NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan has a new CEO and COO, appointed as part of the system's Vision 2020 plan toward financial stability, growth and improving patient experience. William Hicks is the new CEO, and Michael Rawlings is the new COO.

9. Beth Armstrong was named executive director of People's Health Clinic, a community-supported facility in Park City, Utah.

10. Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, Mass., welcomed Cindy Russo, MS, BSN, RN, as president and chief administrative officer.

11. Teresa Edwards was promoted to corporate vice president for Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare's Peninsula and Western Tidewater regions.

12. Craig Albanese, MD, was appointed senior vice president and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and Sloane Hospital for Women, effective June 6.

13. Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is reshuffling leadership. Peter Healy, currently the president and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton (Mass.), will become president of BIDMC's Boston campus, effective Jan. 1. Additionally, BIDMC COO Nancy Formella will retire at the end of the year after three years in the position.

14. David Lopez was named permanent executive vice president and COO of Parkland in Dallas.

15. Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C., named Penney Burlingame Deal, DHA, RN, CEO.

16. Thomas "Tim" Stover, MD, president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic Akron (Ohio) General retired.
