16 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review since July 8. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. The Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems named Jeffrey Tieman president and CEO, effective in August.

2. Kris D. Gray, MD, is the new CMO of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

3. NYC Health + Hospitals named Israel Rocha Jr. as the new CEO of Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens, N.Y.

4. Mark Moore, president of Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, announced plans to retire, effective Nov. 1.

5. Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system named Daniel P. Jantzen as its new CFO.

6. Jane Jordan will join Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health in August as the system's senior vice president and general counsel.

7. Andrew L. Davis, interim CEO of United Medical Center in Washington, D.C., will retire from his position, effective July 15.

8. Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Md., hired Mohammed Shafeeq Ahmed, MD, as its new vice president of medical affairs and CMO, effective July 11.

9. Current Merit Health Biloxi (Miss.) CEO Monte Bostwick is set to resign from his position at the end of July.

10. Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center named Frances Spreer-Albert as its new CFO and executive vice president.

11. The North Texas Medical Center board of directors unanimously voted to place CEO Randy Bacus on administrative leave with pay and benefits through the remainder of his contract, according to the Gainesville Daily Register. His contract ends at the end of 2016.

12. The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Hospitals and Clinics, based in Richmond, appointed Deborah Davis as the new CEO and vice president for clinical affairs, effective Oct. 1.

13. Larry Tracy was named president of Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind.

14. Michael D. Williams, president and CEO of Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Corp., will retire from the organization after 20 years at the helm.

15. James "Jim" N. Elkins, director of the Texas Center for Infectious Disease in San Antonio, will retire after 22 years in his position, effective Aug. 31.

16. Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago appointed Purnendu Gupta, MD, chief of staff.
