13 latest CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves occurred within the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., named Candace Johnson, PhD, its first woman president and CEO. She has held the role on an interim basis since November.

2. Rulon Stacey, PhD, president and CEO of Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services, is leaving the system March 1 due to professional differences and personal reasons.

3. Beth Hughes, president and CEO of Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill., resigned.

4. Sioux Falls (S.D.) Specialty Hospital named Richard Blake Curd, MD, CEO, effective March 1.

5. Michael Sack, president CEO of Medford, Mass.-based Hallmark Health System, will retire this month after serving for 12 years at the helm.

6. Boise, Idaho-based Saint Alphonsus Health System named its interim president and CEO, Rodney Reider, the system's permanent chief.

7. Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Ala., named Arthur Evans CEO and administrator.

8. Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Fla., name Doug Sills CEO.

9. Mike Biediger, CEO of Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, S.C., will step down from his post in December.

10. Columbus-based OhioHealth named C.J. Miller president and CEO of Morrow County Hospital, in Gilead, Ohio, effective March 1.

11. Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas, named Heath Rushing interim CEO.

12. Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital announced the appointment of Kevin Fowler as president and CEO, following the retirement of Brent Marsteller Jan. 1.

13. Peter Bernard, CEO of Richmond-based Bon Secours Virginia, will retire in August after a 15-year tenure as chief.
