The following hospital and health system executive moves occurred within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Connecticut's state health insurance exchange Access Health CT appointed James Wadleigh as interim CEO.

2. David McCurdy is resigning from his position as associate vice president and chief enterprise architect at Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives to become Colorado's top tech official.

3. Pottsville, Pa.-based Schuylkill Health President and CEO John E. Simodejka resigned from his post.

4. Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., appointed Heath Phillips as COO.

5. Avera St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, S.D., named Bob Sutton regional president and CEO.

6. The Kern County Board of Supervisors has dismissed Sandra Martin, CFO of Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, Calif.

7. Emanuel Medical Center CIO David Flanders was appointed as the hospital's new COO.

8. After 18 years as executive vice president and CIO of Pittsburgh-based UPMC, Dan Drawbaugh resigned to pursue other professional interests.

15. Herbert Cushing, MD, became CMO of Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

16. Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., named Todd Duthaler, DO, as CMIO.

17. Sameer Badlani, MD, is leaving his position as CMIO of University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences Division to join Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare as chief health information officer.
