CFO Cory Reeves: Instilling Cost Efficiencies at Gordon Hospital

Cory Reeves serves as CFO of Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Ga., and although his healthcare financial career is still young, he has made a positive impact at the 69-bed community hospital.

CoryReevesMr. Reeves joined Gordon Hospital, which is part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, the largest non-profit Protestant health system in the country, in 2008.

According to an April 2010 Healthcare Purchasing News article, Mr. Reeves has looked for simple, thoughtful ways to keep Gordon Hospital financially stable. One challenge he helped tackle was converting the hospital's medical instruments through a cost-efficient process.

Mr. Reeves said a key component to the hospital's seamless transition was involving physicians along every step of the way.

"The most important part of the conversion process is ensuring our physicians have the information they need to understand and be comfortable with the products," Mr. Reeves said in the article. "That means giving them the opportunity to interact with the products, test them and become familiar with all their intricacies."

Before Gordon Hospital, Mr. Reeves was the director of accounting at Florida Hospital in Orlando.
