CEO Mark Frey: Loyal Leader of Alexian Brothers Health System

Mark Frey was named president and CEO of Alexian Brothers Health System in Arlington Heights, Ill., in December 2011.

Mark Frey CEO of Alexian Brothers Health SystemAs CEO, Mr. Frey oversees four hospitals, 800 patient beds, a network of ambulatory sites, 200 employed physicians, community mental health clinics and various supportive house sites. A 25-year Alexian Brothers employee, Mr. Frey has a great deal of experience with the Alexian Brothers Health System, which has helped him lead the system through a recent acquisition by St. Louis-based Ascension Health.

Mr. Frey previously served as president and CEO of Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, CEO of Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital and vice president of Alexian Neurosciences Institute. He was the driving force behind the behavioral health hospital's growth and rise to prominence since becoming its leader in 1999. Under Mr. Frey's leadership, the hospital pioneered cross-disciplinary alliances with neurologists and neurosurgeons to provide innovative treatments for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.
