CEO Keith Alexander: Helping Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center Grow

Staff -

Keith Alexander was named CEO of Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston in Sept. 2009.

Mr. Alexander joined Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in 2007. Before becoming CEO of Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, he served as COO of the hospital. In that role, he oversaw all operations at Memorial Hermann Memorial City, including construction and growth on the campus. For example, he helped lead the construction of Women's Memorial Hermann and Children's Memorial Hermann, which opened in the Memorial Hermann Tower in 2009 after Mr. Alexander became CEO.

Now as CEO, Mr. Alexander is still overseeing growth at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. In April, the hospital opened the Digestive Health Center, the first center of its kind in west Houston. "This one-stop facility was designed to make advanced digestive health services easy to access for our patients," Mr. Alexander said of the center in a spring newsletter, Breakthroughs.

With Mr. Alexander at the helm, Memorial Hermann Memorial City has reached new heights. In 2013, the hospital was named as one of Truven Health Analytics' 100 Top Hospitals in the nation and made Becker's Hospital Review's list of 100 Great Hospitals in America and its list of 100 Great Community Hospitals.

Mr. Alexander is an Ohio native and earned a master's degree in health administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
