CEO Joseph Scott: Making a Difference in Patient Lives at LibertyHealth System
Mr. Scott has focused on making LibertyHealth hospitals among the best in improving patient health. In order to do this, he has focused on safety, quality, patient satisfaction and financial stability. "Generations of people from Hudson County and all of New Jersey have come to depend on the hospitals of LibertyHealth System for their [healthcare] needs. Hundreds of thousands of people have been born in our hospitals. Thousands of patients rely on us each year to treat them with expertise and compassion. It is our legacy and it is LibertyHealth's continuing responsibility. I have always firmly believed that no matter what position I held in a healthcare organization, I could make a difference in the lives of the patients we serve," said Mr. Scott in a letter to the community on LibertyHealth's website.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Scott served as CEO of Broward General Medical Center in Broward County, Fla. He also served as CEO of Chris Evert Children's Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mr. Scott served as a healthcare administrator with Broward Health since 1986. During his tenure at Broward Health, Mr. Scott's hospital received an award from HealthGrades, which named Broward General in the top 5 percent of quality clinical programs.
