CEO John Harrington: ACHE Board of Governors Appointment Adds to Impressive Leadership Record

John L. Harrington's recent appointment to the American College of Healthcare Executives board of governors is an accomplished addition to an impressive healthcare career filled with numerous leadership and service roles.

John Harrington“It is quite an honor to serve on this national board,” says Mr. Harrington. “I look forward to my term and helping to strategize how ACHE can best serve its members.”

Mr. Harrington has held leadership roles, including stints as chairman for the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association and the American Heart Association's Arizona Chapter and Valley Leadership. He also served as the ACHE regent for Arizona from 2001 to 2005.

Mr. Harrington currently serves as CEO of Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Ariz., owned by Banner Health. Before accepting that position in 2009, Mr. Harrington held associate administrator positions within the former Samaritan Health System — now Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz. He joined Banner Health in 2006, as CEO of Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. Prior to the, Mr. Harrington was CEO of Abrazo Health Care's Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix.
