CEO Dr. M. Narendra Kini: Seasoned Leader of Miami Children's Hospital

M. Narendra Kini, MD, has served as president and CEO of Miami Children's Hospital since 2008. Dr. Kini is a board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician, and he also holds a master's degree in hospital administration. As president and CEO, he oversees the only licensed specialty hospital for children in South Florida.

Miami Children's Hospital CEOUnder Dr. Kini's tenure, Miami Children's Hospital has been ranked among the best in the nation for many of its pediatric specialty services by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital has also reported strong financials under his leadership, with total revenue of more than $1 billion and net income of $28 million representing a 2.3 percent profit margin.

Dr. Kini came to Miami Children's from Trinity Health in Novi, Mich., where he served as executive vice president of clinical operations improvement from 2004 to 2008. He also served in upper level leadership positions with GE Healthcare Leadership Institute, GE Medical Information Technologies and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he held the position of vice president of clinical and support services.
