CEO Donald Wilkerson: History of Success at St. David's HealthCare

Donald H. Wilkerson, FACHE, has served as CEO of St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas, since July 2011.

Prior to joining St. David's Medical Center, Mr. Wilkerson served as CEO of St. David's North Austin Medical Center for 13 years. Both hospitals are part of Austin-based St. David's HealthCare. In his time at the helm there, he oversaw major growth, as the hospital's capacity grew from 128 beds to 332 beds after an expansion project was completed in 2009.

Since joining St. David's Medical Center, Mr. Wilkerson has led the hospital to success. The hospital was named as one of the nation's top 50 cardiovascular hospitals for 2013 by Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thomson Reuters, among other recent accomplishments.

Along with his duties at St. David's Medical Center, Mr. Wilkerson is also involved in the community. He is a member of the United Way Capitol Area Campaign cabinet. He has also served as a member of the Texas Hospital Association's council on policy development and as a member of the American Cancer Society Central Texas Division's board of directors.

Mr. Wilkerson earned a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
