CEO C. David Huffstutler: Committed to Excellence at St. David's HealthCare
C. David Huffstutler, MBA, has served as president and CEO of St. David's HealthCare in Austin, Texas, since February 2011.
Prior to taking the lead of the whole St. David's system, Mr. Huffstutler led St. David's Medical Center in Austin, which comprises four of St. David's HealthCare's seven member hospitals. He has also served as CEO of Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in Houston and in various leadership positions throughout HCA's Houston market.
Under Mr. Huffstutler's leadership, St. David's HealthCare has received national recognition for excellence. In 2012, St. David's was named as one of the top 15 health systems in the country by Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thomson Reuters. "We are pleased that our commitment to high-quality care is receiving national attention," said Mr. Huffstutler in a statement. "The dedication of our doctors, nurses and staff to providing exceptional care to every patient every day has helped establish our system's reputation as a national center of excellence."
Mr. Huffstutler is very involved in professional and community organizations in the Austin area. Professionally, Mr. Huffstutler is on the Texas Hospital Association's board of trustees. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Outside of healthcare, Mr. Huffstutler is a member of the Austin Area Research Organization. He also serves on the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Corporation board, the American Heart Association Capital Area Division board of directors and the board of trustees of St. Andrew's Episcopal School.
Mr. Huffstutler earned his MBA with a concentration in healthcare from University of Houston-Clear Lake.
