UT Austin, Jericho System's National Pilot Aims to Increase Patient Control Over Shared Data

The Health Information Technology Program at the University of Texas at Austin and Jericho Systems Corp. have announced a national pilot program to increase patient control over shared medical records and data.

Recently approved by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, the program will simulate the exchange of records under patient-specified security conditions. Additionally, the program will investigate ways that information on requests for a patient's data can be transferred back to the patient.
