Teladoc completes 3,000 e-visits in one day

Telemedicine provider Teladoc has reported reaching a new benchmark: completing more than 3,000 e-visits in a single day.

According to the company, 3,000 e-visits in one day breaks down to approximately one patient call every 10 seconds during peak time, and physician contact within an average of seven to 10 minutes.

"To put this into perspective, 3,000 e-visits is the equivalent of all ambulatory care patient visits in a typical day at a major U.S. medical center, or the total number of patients seen in one day by the country's five largest hospital emergency departments combined," wrote Jason Gorevic, CEO of Teladoc, on a post announcing the milestone. "It's a lot of visits."

Additionally, Teladoc compared single day accomplishment of 3,000 visits to where the company stood five years ago, when it completed 3,000 visits per month.
