StudySoup offers $1,000 Women in Technology Scholarship

StudySoup, a peer-to-peer learning marketplace, plans to award a $1,000 scholarship to female college students pursuing a career in science or computer programming.

The Women in Technology Scholarship will be awarded to one female student.

"Despite massive growth in computer science employment over the past decade, women are still highly underrepresented," according to a company press release. "StudySoup's goal is to provide financial assistance to women interested in computer science and increase the presence of females in the computing industry."

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Currently attending high school and attending an accredited college of university next academic year
  • Currently attending an accredited college or university (both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible)
