The Penn Center for Precision Medicine — part of Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine — awarded eight research teams approximately $565,000 in accelerator grants during its second round of funding.

Founded in January 2016, the Penn Center for Precision Medicine Accelerator aims to fund and implement precision medicine projects related to care at Penn Medicine. Its projects bring together data analysis, biomedical informatics and health economics experts, among others, to conduct interdisciplinary research.

The eight projects include 14 investigators from nine departments and divisions at Penn Medicine, including cardiology, radiology and psychiatry. The Penn Center for Precision Medicine Accelerator selected the eight research teams from 26 applicants.
