Penn Medicine launches new clinical app, its 75th developed in-house

Clinicians at three Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine hospitals can now access patient information, including vitals and current medications, through a Web-based mobile app called Connexus.

Connexus is the 75th app the organization has developed in-house, Glenn Fala, Penn Medicine's senior director of software development, told Technically Philly.

The app currently has about 600 users, though Mr. Fala expects many more clinicians to incorporate it into their workflows. Penn Medicine's most popular app, a point-of-care data aggregation app called MedView, currently has about 10,000 users, according to the report.
