ONC opens public comments on trusted exchange framework provisions

The ONC is seeking input on the trusted exchange framework and common agreement provisions outlined in Section 4003 of the 21st Century Cures Act.

The agency has opened a 30-day public comment period, which will close August 25, inviting stakeholders to issue comments related to considerations, concerns and success stories on the exchange of health data across networks. The ONC said the feedback will help the agency to implement the provision.

Its public comment form requests stakeholders address six areas, including: standardization; transparency; cooperation and non-discrimination; security and patient safety; access; and data-driven choice.
