The Medical Society of the State of New York will provide free mobile e-prescribing services to its members for one year through a partnership with DrFirst.
Under the partnership, DrFirst — a provider of medication management solutions — will serve as the society's recognized e-prescribing vendor. MSSNY members who register will receive a free iPrescribe license covering controlled substances and legend drugs. The service also provides 24 months of patient medication history and access to patient health insurance formulary and co-pay costs, among other patient data.
New York implemented its e-prescribe mandate, commonly referred to as I-STOP, in March 2016.
"We first evaluated DrFirst and its medication management solution when we were vetting e-prescribing solutions to support our members with I-STOP compliance," said MSSNY CEO Phillip Schuh. "iPrescribe provides our members with a mobile e-prescribing tool that gives them the same powerful functionality they've been using in their offices, with the convenience and flexibility of a mobile app."
