Nurse Faces 51 Counts of ID, Medical Record Theft at Colorado's Boulder Community Hospital

Cannon Lamar Tubb, a nurse who worked at various Colorado hospitals, faces five counts of identity theft and 46 counts of theft of medical records related to his time working in the intensive care unit at Boulder (Colo.) Community Hospital from May 2010-Jan. 2011, according to a Daily Camera report.

An audit by Boulder Community Hospital found Mr. Tubb viewed demographic information for 74 patients, including 46 patients who were never in the ICU. He faces charges of theft of medical records in relation to the non-ICU patients.

He also accessed financial information for some patients and faces five counts of identity theft for allegedly using the information to open credit card accounts and make purchases. Charges against Mr. Tubb are expected to be filed Oct. 12.

Mr. Tubb has already been indicted on 90 charges of attempted theft, identity theft and theft of medical records at two other Colorado hospitals.
