NSF to offer $730k+ in cybersecurity scholarships

The National Science Foundation will award more than $730,000 in scholarships to promote students studying cybersecurity at Forsyth Tech, a Winston-Salem, N.C.-based community college, reports the Triad Business Journal.

The CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service program has awarded $61,000 each to three students, with a fourth still to be chosen this year. The NSF expects to award four more scholarships to Forsyth Tech students in 2018 and 2019.

The scholarship covers students' full tuition at Forsyth Tech, all required textbooks, a technology stipend and two years of tuition at either Greensboro-based North Carolina A&T State University or the University of North Carolina at Charlotte after they graduate with a transfer degree from Forsyth Tech.
