Mercy named 'Analytics Wizard' by SAP

Mercy Technology Services, the IT division at St. Louis-based Mercy, was recognized as an Analytics Wizard by global software company SAP.

Mercy Technology Services was recognized for its data analytics program, which integrates care delivery and has helped the Mercy system save $9 million in surgery-related costs and establish best practices across the system's surgery departments.

"We organize millions of records from many sources, including the EHR, financial systems and external data," said Curtis Dudley, vice president of performance solutions at Mercy. "What used to take weeks to deliver, we embed where and when it's needed — back into the EHR or through custom dashboards with on-the-spot exploration for instant answers."

Mercy took the top spot in the Analytics Wizard award category from SAP. The agency handling customs for the People's Republic of China and international news organization Reuters came in No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
